Submission Guidelines

  • Submission form must be sent by Friday, February 13, 2026, 11:59 PM PST

  • Entries must be uploaded online (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.)

  • Previously performed works: We are looking for pieces that can be set on our dancers with few changes from the original choreography.

  • Choreographer must be available to come to Bellingham to set the piece on the dancers (many times pieces can be set over one weekend). Rehearsals for our fall show typically begin in June. Setting rehearsals take place June-September. Housing for choreographers will be provided.

  • Note: If your work is selected and set on the company, BRD maintains the ability to use footage of the piece for promotional purposes (e.g. choreography reel, posts on social media, etc.)

  • Decisions for our fall 2026 show are currently being made. For guaranteed consideration for the 2026/2027 season, submissions should be sent by February 13, 2026.

  • We welcome the opportunity to bring choreographers to the Pacific Northwest and introduce them to our beautiful region and its vibrant arts community. Choreographers will be provided with housing with a current or previous company member during their setting rehearsals, along with the following payment breakdown:

    • Choreography fee: Variable $600-$900 (payment scale based on piece length, complexity, and budget)

    • Travel Reimbursement: up to $500

    • Per diem for the weekend: $50

  • BRD is a nonprofit, all-volunteer, and dancer-run organization. We deeply understand the time, energy, and commitment involved in the choreographic process, and it is our goal to honor that with fair and equitable compensation. Due to our company’s financial limitations, we have created a pay structure that reflects this to the best of our abilities.

  • There is a $15 submission fee per choreographer.

    • All fees will help fund choreographer payments. If you would like to submit your work and are finding the fee prohibitive, please contact us at bhamrep@gmail.com.
