Bellingham Repertory Dance is committed to:

  • emphasizing our own internal education and dialogue

  • addressing the ways our organization fails to grant equity and access to all

  • prioritizing anti-racist practices in every facet of our organization

  • increasing accessibility for community members with disabilities

  • developing an inclusive movement curriculum that is accessible to all levels

  • acknowledging that our performance and practice occurs on indigenous land

We acknowledge that the land on which we dance is the ancestral homeland of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the Lummi, Nooksack, Semiahmoo, and Samish, who have lived here since time immemorial, and whose land was stolen through broken treaties. We acknowledge that the United States was founded on the genocide of native people and the labor of enslaved Africans forcibly brought to this continent through chattel slavery. We recognize that our country’s founding history continues to impact the social world in which we inhabit. As a dance collective in this community, we honor those who care for the land, water, and air, and we recognize our responsibility in rebuilding relationships and giving back in our work as movement artists.
